The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Psalm 19:1
I asked Google what materialists believe and this is the answer I received: Materialists believe that matter is the fundamental substance in the universe and that all things, including the mind and consciousness, are the result of physical interactions. They reject the existence of the supernatural, souls, or any non-physical reality.
There are variations in materialistic and atheistic beliefs, but they begin with one assumption: There is no God. The purpose of a lot of the theories that scientists who hold these views come up with is to prove that there is no God. They want there to be no God, so they propose macro-evolution, even though there has never been any proof that macro-evolution exists. They propose the multiverse theory which posits that there are an infinite number of universes, therefore one of them inevitably had to be able to sustain life. Scientific methods like carbon dating require many assumptions on the part of the scientists, but their results are often advertised as certain facts.
To begin with, the assertion that there is no God eliminates so many possible theories about how the universe came into being, and how life was created, and how it is sustained. From the earliest times man has observed the universe and the most logical explanation was that it was created by an intelligent supernatural agent. The beauty and order that surrounds us is clearly evidence of intelligent design. Any other view is discounting a great deal of evidence.
Romans 1:20
For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. Romans 1:20
