“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1
The Bible tells us that God created the heavens and earth from nothing. Science agrees that the universe had a beginning, and that through an event called the Big Bang, matter, energy, time, and space were created. Further proof that the universe came into being from a singular, sudden event is the continuous expansion of the universe, which was first observed by Edwin Hubble, when he saw that galaxies were moving away from each other. The existence of Cosmic Microwave Background, which is radiation left over from the Big Bang, is further evidence that the universe had a distinct beginning.
There are many theories attempting to explain what caused the universe to come into being, but it is impossible to avoid one fact: Something, or someone, had to cause everything to come into existence.
In other words, science cannot explain what happened before the Big Bang, or what, or who initiated the Big Bang. The Bible gives the most reasonable explanation for the beginning of the universe. God created it.
