What happens when man rejects God? When people reject God, they also reject God’s authority and His plan for mankind. When people do not love God with all their hearts, souls, and minds, as well as loving their neighbors as themselves, as commanded by God, they have no basis for morality. This results in morality becoming fluid, and personalized. As we decide what our own truth is, we begin to separate ourselves into groups which share our morality. The problem that arises is that eventually everyone has their own truth and their own morality, and no one knows what is true or right anymore. This splintering of society along moral lines would continue into infinity, except that far before infinity, everyone would either kill each other, or more likely, someone’s truth will be imposed on everyone else, resulting in tyranny. There can be no freedom of any kind without God.
