“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”  Hebrews 11:1

This verse is the Biblical definition of faith.  It is not all that different from the definition I got when I asked Google to give me a definition of faith.  Google said:

Faith is generally defined as complete trust, confidence, or a firm belief in something without requiring tangible proof or physical evidence.

I then asked Google to define blind faith, and I received this answer:

Blind faith is the uncritical acceptance of a belief, idea, or authority without requiring any evidence, logic, or demonstration of truth.

Belief in God does require faith, because we cannot see Him, and He does not choose to give us any direct physical evidence of His existence.  However, we are not required to believe in Him through blind faith only because there is ample circumstantial evidence of His existence, His existence is logical, and a case can be made that the truth of His existence can be demonstrated.

In the next several installments I will make a case not only for the existence of God as Creator, but also I will also provide evidence that supports faith in Jesus as our savior to be the most logical worldview.  I will supply evidence that points to the truth of the Christian worldview based on creation, science, scripture, history, and common sense.  I will provide as many resources in these discussions as I can to help you do additional research to find the truth for yourself.

Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”   Mark 9:24

Belief in Jesus as our Lord and Savior does require faith, but God has provided plenty of evidence to support this belief.
